The Men’s badminton team of David Pieris Group emerged champions of the Mercantile Badminton Tournament 2021 ‘D’ Division, thus earning a promotion in the next season.

On their way to victory, David Pieris Group defeated Amana Bank and Douglas & Sons in the league stage and overcame NDB Bank in the semi-finals. They beat Douglas & Sons in the final, when the two teams met for the second time in the competition.

David Pieris Group’s veterans’ team secured the fourth place in their category.

The 37th Mercantile Badminton Tournament was held at the Mercantile Badminton Association in Colombo with the participation of 114 teams.
