David Pieris Group has continuously supported the development of sports among schools as well as the mercantile sector. The Group also encourages its own employees to play sports and live healthier active lives. Currently David Pieris Group teams participate in mercantile cricket, athletics, volleyball, hockey, basketball, netball and badminton.

The sponsorship cheque for the ‘E’ Division Tournament was handed over at Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA)  on February 18, 2020, with the participation of Ms. Romany Parakrama, Executive Director, David Pieris Motor Company (Private) Limited; Mr. Naresh Tillekeratne, CEO, Assetline Leasing Company Limited; Mr. Mahesh de Silva, Chief Operating Officer, Assetline Leasing Company Limited; Mr. Lakmal de Silva Divisional Manager, David Pieris Motor Company (Private) Limited, Mr. Rohana Dissanayake, President MCA, MCA officials, media and guests.

It enables those who love the sport to continue to play the game after they leave school and enter the workforce. One of the most important contributions of the MCA is the networking and bonds it creates on and off the field which foster business and career growth”.
