Kart Fight Round 1 at SLKC

Kart Fight Championship Round 1 took place on February 29, 2020 at Sri Lanka Karting Circuit Bandaragama, the finest karting track in Asia. The event comprised of qualifying, heats 1 and 2, followed by the final race that awards championship points. Showcasing over 70 drivers under 8 classes - Novice Open (aged 13 years and above), Junior (aged 13-15 years), Senior (aged 16-29 years), Masters (aged 30-44 years), Veterans (aged 45 years and above), Ladies Open (aged 13 years and above), Cadet (aged 8-12 years) and X30 (aged years 13 and above Open), it was a roaring success. Competing for the top spot in the gruelling battle on SLKC’s world class 717m purpose-built asphalt surface, drivers who came in 1st , 2nd and 3rd under each class received trophies, while 4th and 5th places were awarded medals. All drivers received certificates. Aneeq Jamaldeen, Harith Gunasekara, Jayden De Silva, Yehansa Senanayaka, Yaanik Jayawardana, Jayden Jayawardana, Sandhya Thenuwara, Achini De Silva and Anish Ranasinghe who were trained at the SLKC Motorsports Academy, also took part in the event and performed very well, securing podium places. Kart Fight Round 1 was organized by the Ceylon Motor Sports Club and hosted and promoted by David Pieris Racing and Leisure (Pvt) Ltd. The official media partner was Fox FM.
