Competing against over 1200 athletes from 22 countries at the SMTFA International Masters Track & Field Championships 2024 held in Singapore from 21 to 26 June, the DPG team brought home 24 medals, including 12 Gold, 9 Silver and 3 Bronze.

The eight DPG athletes were part of a 32-member Sri Lankan contingent and had qualified for this prestigious event based on their performances at the Mercantile Athletic Meet 2023.

Kalpani Fernando (Human Resources – DPMC) 2 Gold 2 medals (100x4, 400x4) 1 Silver medal (Triple Jump) 1 Bronze medal (High Jump)

Damith Madushan (Corporate Communications – DPH) 1 Gold medal (800M) 1 Silver medal (1500M)

Kasun Shyamal (Human Resources – DPMC) 3 Silver medals (400M Hurdles, 100x4, 400x4)

Malshi Fernando (Treasury Operations – ACPL) 2 Silver medals (100M, 200M)

In addition to above athletes, Waruna Udawatte (Vehicle Sales – DPMC) participated as the Team Manager representing the Mercantile Athletic Federation, also competed and won 2 Silver medals (4x100m Relay, 4x400m Relay) and 2 Bronze medals (110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles).
