ongratulations to the David Pieris Group karting team, ‘the Kartman’ for securing 3rd place at the SpeedBay 6-Hour Endurance Race held last weekend at SpeedBay Bandaragama.
This was the final round of the 3-round championship, featuring 16 teams, including prominent Sri Lankan drivers. 
Team "Kartman" qualified in 9th position with an impressive, best lap time of 40.615 seconds set by Waruna Chathuranga. 
Despite facing several challenges during the race, the team executed an excellent all-around strategy. 
Over the 6-hour endurance race, they completed 508 laps, finishing just 4 laps behind the winning team. 
Gaining 6 positions from their starting place, the team made the David Pieris Group proud by reclaiming our motorsport legacy after a long hiatus.
Beyond the podium finish, the team's discipline and adherence to race regulations were remarkable. No penalties or incidents were recorded against them, further highlighting the professionalism they brought to the competition. 
Having also competed in the previous two rounds, 6 hours and 12 hours, Team "Kartman" secured 9th place overall in the SpeedBay Endurance Championship 2024.
